Samsung evenly tries to give a firm security assurance to the users and this time it has brought an iris scanner feature for its new launch Galaxy Tab S4. It will be an extra authenticity and security for the device apart from the software security that previously came in-build the tablet.
The recent announcement made by the company gives a clue of the tab to be launched somewhere between the first week of August. It is a replacement for a fingerprint sensor that did not work well with many of the users. Though the company has taken off the fingerprint sensor technology it has introduced the concept of Intelligent scan to unlock the device that worked perfectly well with Galaxy S9 and S9 plus.
The intelligent scan is the combination of facial recognition technology and iris scanner. In some scenarios like bright sunlight, iris scanner fails to recognize the human eye. Here’s where intelligent scan plays its role. As soon as it recognizes high-intensity sunlight, it switches to facial recognition technology. It reverses back to iris scanner in dark light where facial recognition fails to unlock the device.
Here are some of the key specifications of Galaxy S4 tablet that make it even smarter device:
- 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display having aspect ratio 16:10
- 2560 X 1600 pixel resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
- 7300mAh battery power along with DeX support
- 8MP, 13MP front, and rear camera respectively
- Connections including USB 3.1 port, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0
- 4GB LPDDR4X RAM
- 64GB onboard storage
- Top-notch audio quality

Apart from the above features, the South Korean tech giant has introduced S Pen support as well. It will be featuring same Note 9 S Pen support technology in the upcoming tablet. We cannot just give the assurance right now whether the decision to put away fingerprint sensor is a good idea or the bad one.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will be competing for a device for next iPad Pro. Both the devices characterize Apple Pencil and S Pen supporting the stylus for giving input. Samsung hasn’t revealed the price of the tablet yet but seeing at its strong specifications it may rise higher than expected.
Another common question that may arise in the audience’s mind is why Samsung decided to go for an iris scanner and took off fingerprint sensor away from the device. Former two Galaxy Tabs were launched in July. Hence, you can see an identical piece this year, maybe, the coming August. You can download wallpapers for Galaxy Tab S4 from the wallpaper archive of the company’s website.
