Google’s new Chromecast device has increased performance but at the same price

The search giant, Google is ready to throw its next Chromecast device in the market, which is 15 per cent faster in performance than the previous ones. The previous Chromecast was introduced by the company in September 2015. The new one is capable of streaming 1080p with 60 frames per second. The company recently announced to launch its Pixel series smartphones and immediately decided to announce new series of Chromecast.

The new device is closely compatible with Google’s already existing gadgets including Pixel smartphones, Daydream view headset, Google Home speakers, and computing devices. With this new Chromecast connected with Google Home speaker, you can control your television just by giving voice commands to the device.

On the other hand, using Google assistant and Google Home speaker you could also watch any particular video on YouTube. In future, the tech giant thinks of adding Chromecast to multiple speakers. Along with the new capabilities, Google will retain functionalities of previous Chromecast device that includes converting the screen into a mirror, casting the content of app to HDTV, and mirror the screen of PC to the television.

Applications that support casting features on your iOS and Android smartphones are Google Play Movies, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and HBO. Streaming music from YouTube or any other source to a speaker connected with Chromecast now becomes easier. Coming to the physical design of the device, the upcoming ones look similar to the previous. The only changes made are its matte finish and G letter of the Google Chrome logo.

It also supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, and hockey puck-like design, however, there are certain drawbacks in the device. It does not support USB Type-C port and continues with old micro-USB. Two color options – Charcoal and Chalk are available as of now. An initial price of the device starts from $35 and is already made available in countries including Great Britain, Japan, Denmark, Singapore, Australia, Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, Canada, and the US.
