WhatsApp is rapidly throwing back to back software updates for both iOS and Android users this year. Many of them were really appreciated by the users, but some failed to impress. Group video calling for up to 4 people was one of the well-appreciated features given out by the company. It was a threatening retort for its competitor, Skype. They have brought another trending functionality update, which is a forward limit and forwarded tag for all the iPhones.
The Facebook-owned company, WhatsApp is most widely used messaging app all over the world. Majority of WhatsApp users have the habit of forwarding the messages as it is to all their contacts. Well, that is not an issue. The issue lies when they forward any violating or fake messages. This creates a disordered environment among the users.
The incident has prompted the company’s mind to come up with a forward limit feature that restricts you to forward limited messages to their recipients. Alongside, it has inserted a forward tag to every message that indicates the message has been forwarded as it is by the user and not typed by them.
These two features have already hit Android smartphones and now the company rolls it out for iOS users. The step was explicitly taken to avoid blowout of fake news among the community. Along with these features, Facebook has brought some bug fixes and improvements in its latest iOS update.
Users can see a small forward option residing right to the media button where they can quickly forward the messages or media to the contacts. The software is already made available for iOS and you can directly download it from iTunes.
Additionally, the messaging giant is testing some exciting features that may find its way in next software update. It includes suspicious link detection feature where users get a notification for any distrustful links, web pages, or any unusual characters in the URL. This is one of the helpful step company has taken to avoid revolving of fake news.
