Killer7, a 2005 action-adventure video game is being remastered for release on Steam. The news was made public during MomoCon, where the manufacturer of Killer7, Grasshopper hosted a 20th-anniversary stream. Earlier the game was released on PlayStation 2, GameCube and Microsoft Windows. Steam is the largest digital distribution platform for Gaming with the highest market share.
Killer7, developed by Grasshopper Manufacture was written and directed by Goichi Suda has three levels. Once killer7 is successfully completed, the gamer is taken to next level called ‘’killer8’’ and then the final level ”hopper 7”. Killer7 has also received many accolades for its soundtrack, presentation & storyline.
The news was announced by Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) America on Saturday, 27th May 2018. NIS America has also given a brief on the storyline as ”Dive into a dark world of underground assassins in a tale of revenge as Harman Smith, a man who manifests 7 deadly personalities into the real world, known as the killer7. Take control of this distinct murderers’ row as they hunt down the sinister Kun Lan, to stop his plan of world dominance, and end his organization of deadly suicide bombers known as “Heaven Smile”.
A trailer was also launched at Atlanta this year which gives a quick glimpse of various characters being personified by the main character called Harman Smith. Many users at Twitter and YouTube noticed that in the final scene of the trailer, FPS counter used by Dolphin emulator for GameCube was there. A crossover event was also held by Gung-ho entertainment which showcased Killer7 themed weapons hinting towards new upcoming in the game.
The game also had a comic book adaptation by Devil’s Due Publication which continued till 4 issues. The game features first-person shooter elements. On-rail control scheme is highly unique and praised for.
