Very few companies have dominated the e-commerce industry, and one of them is Amazon. From the last nearly two decades, Amazon is dominating e-commerce industry with high quality of services and prices because of which no company had managed to give it a fierce competition. However, now Shopify might give e-commerce giant fierce competition because it has launched its new fulfillment network. Shopify Fulfillment network (SFN) is now going to provide services to its merchants of packaging material and delivering it within two days of the period.
SFN is still new, but the way Shopify is trying to build its fulfillment network shows that Amazon might be getting robust competition form it if they succeed at it. Many merchants are using the Shopify platform for selling their products directly or through dropshipping. Now since Shopify has decided to provide fulfillment services, it’s going to be far more comfortable for them to deliver the required products. The company is expecting to deliver at least 10000 packages per day, which are a good starting point.
Shopify executives said they are going to spend more than $1 billion on building their fulfillment network. Millions of people and SFN use Shopify is going to bring good news for both suppliers and buyers. Users now can be able to get their desired products within a short period, and merchants will get paid soon. Even if some experts think this move of Shopify is against Amazon, it’s not going to affect that much to e-commerce giant company. Amazon spends billions of dollars on its fulfillment network, and they are even trying to build its transportation services also. However, it won’t be that much easy for Amazon to stop going its customers to Shopify if they are getting a fair deal there.
