WarnerMedia has informed that it is going to launch its much-hyped streaming services HBO Max in May 2020 in the United States. The officials have also said that streaming service will be available for $14.99 a month. According to the officials, streaming services will be a great combination of content, technology platform, and marketing. HBO Max is a new entrant into the crowded streaming market. It will have huge competition with Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Apple. AT&T subscribers and existing HBO customers are likely to get HBO Max services free. This might give it a good start to close the gaps with other competitors. HBO Max is supposed to have approximately 75 million to 90 million subscribers by 2025 across Europe, the US and Latin America.

HBO will offer almost everything available on HBO including the content from Warner Bros, DC entertainment, the cartoon network, TNT, TBS, and new line. The company is all set to spend $4 billion over the next three years to improve HBO Max. The officials said that it would have 50 max original shows by 2021. The Batman, rip off film ‘Joker will be available on streaming service. The upcoming streaming TV will also consist of 23 seasons of the animated comedy ‘South Park’ along with three new forthcoming seasons. ‘South Park’ will be available on HBO Max a day after it will debut on comedy central. HBO will unveil its advertisement-based version in 2021.

The owner of HBO Max, AT&T seems to be unaffected by the undeniable and rising competition in the streaming market. The CEO of the company downplayed the rivals by saying that HBO Max will be quite different from Netflix and Disney. He said that HBO Max will be unique from what consumers have seen so far. However, there is no denying that HBO Max will have a vast variety of content including exclusive rights to ‘Friends’ and ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. The officials have set a high pricing strategy from HBO Max than Disney and Apple. Disney+ is expected to cost $7 for a month with a discount for a full year purchase. Apple has kept the pricing spectrum even lower with $5 a month and offered free Apple TV for a year with new Apple devices.
